Exercising is exhilarating
What’s that feeling you get when you exercise? When you’re running, jogging, peddling away on the treadmill, lifting weights, stretching, doing some yoga or doing some pilates, how does it feel?
It’s not always easy making sure you fit 15 to 20 minutes of aerobic work into your daily schedule. Work and domestic commitments often sidetrack even those of us with the best intentions.
The key to maintaining your resolve is to keep top of mind the pleasures from robust exercise. You know, that blissful feeling you get after a great workout. It doesn’t matter whether you run, jog, cycle, lift weights, or stretch with some yoga or pilates. It’s a reward all exercise offers.
Some of you who don’t exercise regularly may end up with a headache or dizziness, but for the lucky few it’s just as sweet and refreshing as it is for the veterans.
Few things we do are as as energizing or stimulating. But the word that captures the feeling best is probably ‘exhilarating’ often defined as ‘to bring life to’. When such a feeling arrives it’s just delightful.
The process goes from: blah/lazy/normal -> pain -> do I really have to do this -> I hate doing this -> God this feel GOOD!
Exercise drains the laziness from your system. Your muscle power increases and the adrenaline level goes up. Your body is fully immersed in the process of bringing you to life, waking you up and giving you that energy boost that will last for hours. Most important, it makes you more alert and it lifts your spirits.
If you don’t exercise on a daily basis we suggest you start. Don’t be deterred by the sweat and work, it will certainly pay off in the end. And if you already have a regular exercise routine kudos to you!
P.S. When you need a quick fix and exercising is not an option grab a can of Taboo, it will give you that same exhilarating feeling as an exercise session.
